    Mueller Wildlife Refuge rebellion ...

    http://billingsgazette.com/news/nati...1e1f4e3d4.html

BURNS, Ore. (AP) — A peaceful protest Saturday in support of an eastern Oregon ranching family facing jail time for arson was followed shortly afterward by an occupation of a building at a national wildlife refuge.

Ammon Bundy, the son of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who was involved in a standoff with the government over grazing rights, told The Oregonian (http://is.gd/bK7d4E ) he and two of his brothers were among a group of dozens of people occupying the headquarters of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

Ammon Bundy said the group planned to stay at the refuge indefinitely.

"We're planning on staying here for years, absolutely," Ammon Bundy said. "This is not a decision we've made at the last minute."

An Idaho militia leader who helped organize the earlier march said he knew nothing about activities after a parade of militia members and local residents in Burns walked past the sheriff's office and the home of Dwight Hammond Jr. and his son Steven.

Beth Anne Steele, an FBI spokeswoman in Portland, told The Associated Press the agency was aware of the situation at the national wildlife refuge. She made no further comment.

    Live feed from Oregon.

The collectivists have begun to exploit it: "Right wing militia from Bundy Ranch occupy federal wildlife building in Oregon."
Authorities have not yet commented on the occupation but Zaitz reports that Oregon State Police, the Harney County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI are involved in the developing situation.

"And the FBI are involved in the developing situation." Yeah, both inside and outside the building, you can bet on it.

It’s a time to stand up and come to Harney County,” where Burns is located. Below the video is this statement: “(asterisk)(asterisk)ALL PATRIOTS ITS TIME TO STAND UP NOT STAND DOWN!!! Why don't they hire lawyers to get a retrial if they think the pair of ranchers was wrongly convicted? They are no different than the black lives matter group or the government for that matter. Don't like the verdict......cause trouble and break the law. That's not how it's supposed to be done. If there was corruption involved in the first trial, research it expose it and throw the corrupt bastards in jail. Nothing will be accomplished with this protest.

I followed upon the backstory of that trial ... seemed pretty cut and dry that the father and son were guilty. As for being remanded back to jail, can't say I can support the judge on that but I don't see how taking over this particular federal facility is going to accomplish anything.

That would seem excessive for poaching.

wasn't just for poaching ... the father/son team torched 139 acres of public land in 2012

    http://www.justice.gov/usao-or/pr/ea...e-years-prison

A jury sitting in Pendleton, Oregon found the Hammonds guilty of the arsons after a two-week trial in June 2012. The trial involved allegations that the Hammonds, owners of Hammond Ranches, Inc., ignited a series of fires on lands managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM), on which the Hammonds had grazing rights leased to them for their cattle operation.

The jury convicted both of the Hammonds of using fire to destroy federal property for a 2001 arson known as the Hardie-Hammond Fire, located in the Steens Mountain Cooperative Management and Protection Area. Witnesses at trial, including a relative of the Hammonds, testified the arson occurred shortly after Steven Hammond and his hunting party illegally slaughtered several deer on BLM property. Jurors were told that Steven Hammond handed out “Strike Anywhere” matches with instructions that they be lit and dropped on the ground because they were going to “light up the whole country on fire.” One witness testified that he barely escaped the eight to ten foot high flames caused by the arson. The fire consumed 139 acres of public land and destroyed all evidence of the game violations. After committing the arson, Steven Hammond called the BLM office in Burns, Oregon and claimed the fire was started on Hammond property to burn off invasive species and had inadvertently burned onto public lands. Dwight and Steven Hammond told one of their relatives to keep his mouth shut and that nobody needed to know about the fire.

The jury also convicted Steven Hammond of using fire to destroy federal property regarding a 2006 arson known as the Krumbo Butte Fire located in the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge and Steen Mountain Cooperative Management and Protection Area. An August lightning storm started numerous fires and a burn ban was in effect while BLM firefighters fought those fires. Despite the ban, without permission or notification to BLM, Steven Hammond started several “back fires” in an attempt save the ranch’s winter feed. The fires burned onto public land and were seen by BLM firefighters camped nearby. The firefighters took steps to ensure their safety and reported the arsons.

This site below has a 4 page discussion running. Very interesting.

    http://www.thetreeofliberty.com/vb/s...triots-To-Arms

The location is in mix of green and desert country. Could this be a tactic to go after firearms. (Just a thought) Pete Santilli Show was saying the folks were un-armed; but, the news media and alternative were stating they're heavily armed.

As usual BC, good information. Thanks for the heads up.

It seems to me that evil exists on both sides of the aisle and is actively seeking to find some useful idiots to to do its bidding.

Federal Land Ownership: Is It Constitutional?

    a good read ... http://tenthamendmentcenter.com/2014...onstitutional/

The ongoing Cliven Bundy situation in Nevada has raised awareness of the hazards of federal land management.

In Nevada, the federal government owns a stunning 81 percent of the land. On the land they manage, the feds are threatening to evict tenants who refuse to pay outrageous fees. Bundy is the last of a dying breed, the only holdout who hasn’t been driven off land in Clark County in recent years, land his family has utilized and improved for nearly a century.

This behavior raises and important question: Is this how the Founding Fathers intended for the federal government to manage land when they created the Constitution? A 2005 University of Colorado Law Review article by Robert G. Natelson of the Independence Institute titled “Federal Land Retention and the Constitution’s Property Clause: The Original Understanding” attempts to answer that question by carefully examining the historical record against conservative and liberal interpretations of the Property Clause of the Constitution.

The article begins by talking about the case of a Bozeman, Montana native by the name of Casey Emerson. Emerson wants the feds to cede their land holdings back to the people. He argues that the feds don’t tend to the land as well as local folks could, and make blunders that harm the environment and livelihood of Montana residents. Natelson argues that while Emerson’s opinion doesn’t reflect present case law, there is a strong historical basis for his argument against the excessive hoarding of land by the federal government.

This becomes clear when you examine the core principles that the Republic was based upon. It is widely recognized that the principles of republicanism and decentralization were crucial in founding the United States of America, but there were also some principles that fell by the wayside as time passed. While they aren’t necessarily acknowledged now, they were considered to be essential for the continuance of a well-functioning Republic by our predecessors. These principles are fiduciary government, sympathy and independence.

Fiduciary government refers to the idea of government officials as “guardians, agents, servants, or trustees of the people.” Sympathy meant that public officials and private individuals are meant to share an “identity of interest, rather than conflict of interest.” Government officials are therefore expected to serve the public as a whole rather than serve a specific faction or political party. Independence is necessary to prevent collusion between government actors, to keep them free from each other and dependent only upon the public. Knowing these bedrock principles upon which the Republic was founded is key in understanding the appropriate purpose of federal land management.

    Bundy arrested

    Absolutely pathetic........
    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2...sted/79380650/

BURNS, Ore. — Authorities say they have arrested Ammon Bundy, the leader of a group of protesters holed up at a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon for more than three weeks.

The FBI and Oregon State Police moved in to arrest members of the armed group about 4:25 p.m. PT Tuesday along Highway 395. Shots were fired and one individual "who was a subject of a federal probable cause arrest is deceased," said a joint FBI-OSP release. No other information about the deceased was immediately released.

Bundy Ranch, on its Facebook page, said in a post Tuesday evening that Arizona resident Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, author of the novel Only by Blood and Suffering, was shot and killed during the encounter

lots of conflicting info coming out on this ... can't even get straight info from any militia groups on what has happened. Maybe we'll hear the truth in 2 or 3 years after some Senate hearing, if they even bother
