That's crazy! I always heard the Gators in the sewers myths, but never believed an alligator could weather a NY winter.

Big cats killing little cats in Florida!

Living in Florida certainly has its perks, but like other states, certain things just come with the territory.A security camera in front of a home in Naples, Florida caught a haunting video of a big predator cat – most likely a panther – chasing down a smaller house cat in the owner’s driveway. The panther then casually trots off with the cat still squirming in its jaws.
This video illustrates the dangers that Florida residents with outdoor pets must look out for:

Ha! I see that now, scanned right past the NC earlier, that makes a bit more sense

I didn’t realize how incredibly huge a bull moose actually was until I visited a museum that had a full mount displayed. Needless to say, I was very impressed!

Bear attacks a man in his driveway!

A Carolina man says he’s lucky to be alive after being attacked by a bear while standing in the driveway of his North Carolina home, and he has his wife to thank for helping him walk away.
It all went down in the driveway of Sonny Pumphrey’s Waynesville home. Pumphrey was blowing leaves around 4 p.m. when he was suddenly surprised by not one, not two, but THREE bears standing within just a few feet of him, Fox Carolina reported.

A jogger kills a mountain lion with his bare hands, suffocating it!

According to Denver Post, the jogger had no weapons on his person when the cat attacked him from behind, and it remains unclear if he strangled or smothered the mountain lion.“It’s an amazing story. Everyone is baffled and impressed,” said Rebecca Ferrell, spokeswoman for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. “He had no weapons, no knives or trekking poles with him. How did he do it? It’s pretty rare. That is definitely a twist on this, I’m sure.”
Still, certain questions remain including exactly how the man – who has not been identified publicly – suffocated the animal sans the use of any weapon.
The victim was still in the hospital as of Tuesday afternoon receiving treatment for his injuries.
“Mountain lion attacks are not common in Colorado and it is unfortunate that the lion’s hunting instincts were triggered by the runner,” said Ty Petersburg, area wildlife manger for CPW. “This could have had a very different outcome.”
“With a mountain lion, your best chance is to fight. If you make yourself small they will think you are prey,” Ferrell said.

700 lb Gator found in Georgia!

Biologists with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources are letting folks know that a viral gator photo going around the internet lately is no hoax.“Apparently a lot of people think it’s fake, but I assure you that it is not,” said Brent Howze, a DNR wildlife biologist. “I’m the one in the picture, and you can probably tell that I didn’t get too close to it.”
The 700-pound beast was found in an irrigation ditch near Lake Blackshear after a farmer discovered it and called the DNR. Unfortunately, the reptile was in pretty bad shape with what appeared to be “gunshot wounds,” Howze told the Cordele Dispatch. “It’s an unfortunate situation, but the best thing for the animal was to put it down.

It was an absolutely massive alligator, which reportedly measured 13-feet, 4-inches and was estimated to weigh roughly 700-pounds.
