American Rifleman has an article about Winchester ( whoever that is these days. If I have it figured out right FN/ Browning now owns Winchester.) manufacturing NEW 1873s for the first time since 1919. They will be made by Miroku in Japan. For those that don't know, Miroku is the company that manufactures the 1892 for Browning. They also manufacture the new Winchester 1892s. They are going to be chambered in .357 mag/.38 special. Capacity is 10/11.

Maybe they will expand the line of calibers offered. The artivpcle said they went with the .357/.38 because that's what caliber was popular with the cowboy shooters.

That will be cool! I have been thinking about lever rifles lately and how cool it would to have a pistol in the same caliber for a side arm, GP 100!

Would be great to pair up with my Single Six's in .357.

Very nice but I hate to say I'm going to stick with my Marlins.

Too bad they are not chambering it for the 44-40. Winchester and Browning are in the old office at Morgan, Utah. They are both wholly owned by FN of Herstal Belgium. The Morgan, Utah office and Factory outlet store are 50 miles from my place in Wyoming.:)

I bought a EMF Hartford 1892 some years ago in .44-40. Great little round. With the 24" octagonal barrel the mag tube holds 14 rounds and loads very fast. This is a baseball that started at 50 yards, 4 rounds loaded. It was 120 yards in about 6 seconds and 4 hits. Fun and accurate rifle. Really cheap to reload for.

The sad part of the new Winchester 73 is the price. The blued rifle is priced at $1300,and the case colored at $1500.
The Uberti 73 is a lot nicer rifle for less money, and you can get it in several calibers. Guy's can say that the Uberti isn't a Winchester, but the new one isn't either!
